Trade: Cogliano For Shore

Andrew Cogliano was traded on 1/14/19 to the Dallas Stars for forward Devin Shore. Ducks twitter was understandably shocked when the news dropped early Monday morning. I think we all knew in the midst of an 11 game losing streak that changes were possible. I just don’t think anyone expected fan favorite, locker room leader, Cogliano to be the first domino to fall. *cough cough Randy*

Cogs was a player for the Ducks that worked hard every shift and will be missed by players and fans alike. Below is a video I put together of 5 of my favorite Andrew Cogliano moments. Please watch and enjoy!

These goals from Cogs showed his work-ethic and tenacity that he brought night in and night out. From scoring game tying goals with out a helmet to burning defenders with his speed, Cogs gave us a ton of highlights in his 506 game Anaheim Ducks career. He will forever be our Iron Man. Best of luck in Dallas, Cogs!

Now as for the trade. The Ducks got younger and cleared about 1 million in cap space. The trade also shook up the locker room. GM Bob Murray showed with this trade that he is not messing around and will trade anyone he thinks can bring in a piece to make this team better.

I don’t know a ton about Shore but I can see him fitting in nicely in Cogliano’s spot in the line up and hopefully this change in scenery helps wake up his offensive game.

What are your thoughts on the trade? Angry? Sad? Happy? Let us know in the comments or on twitter @ducksfanreport
